Ferrari driver Lewis Hamilton believes there is "more to come" from him this season as he heads to the Japanese Grand Prix in a buoyant mood.
The Englishman is clearly enjoying himself in the SF-26 car, which has seen major changes due to the new technical regulations implemented in 2026.
Hamilton finished less than a second behind team-mate Charles Leclerc at the Australian Grand Prix to narrowly miss out on the podium in P4, while they were locked in an enthralling battle in Shanghai one week later.
The Ferrari duo tussled with George Russell of Mercedes for much of the Chinese Grand Prix before the seven-time world champion held off Leclerc to claim his first podium for the Prancing Horse in 26 races.
Hamilton had endured his longest podium drought (16 months) before his P3 in China, and he feels re-energised, but insists there is still room for improvement as he continues to get to grips with the new car.
"I definitely feel like I'm back to my best, both mentally and physically," he said. "I still think there's room to improve.
"I think I can still eke out more performance from this car. I'm still learning about it as I go, particularly with [energy] deployment. I do think there's more to come."
