Brian Campbell is the most recent of eight past winners in the field set to compete at the John Deere Classic from 2-5 July.
The American is the defending champion after he carded an 18-under 266 to beat Emiliano Grillo in a playoff last year.
It was Campbell's second victory on the PGA Tour since he turned professional in 2015, having won his maiden title earlier that same year at the Mexico Open.
But the 33-year-old has struggled to build on those successes in 2026, failing to even finish inside the top 20 of out the 16 events he's participated in.
Campbell, who is ranked no. 127 in the world, has missed the cut nine times, including his last three outings at the Charles Schwab Challenge, the Memorial Tournament and the Canadian Open.
His best performance to date came in the first major of the season when he placed T24 at the Masters Tournament, finishing 10 shots behind winner Roy McIlroy.
Campbell is the shortest hitter on the PGA Tour, averaging 279.9 yards off the tee due to mobility issues stemming from back and hamstring injuries he sustained in 2019.
But he has found a way to compete, though admittedly saying: "It does get kind of comical, hearing some of the clubs that guys have in. I'm just over here like, well, I just hit a 7-wood. And they hit a 7-iron.
"I'm not used to hitting this short, but it's what I had to go through. I've never viewed the game in terms of distance, really. It's Point A to Point B. And if I'm only hitting it 260-270 off the tee, my strategy just has to change."
